Charging Perks and Optimize Your Charge are free to join, and you can unenroll at any time.

You can join Charging Perks by creating a WeaveGrid account and selecting it during program selection. The process is the same for Optimize Your Charge except there is a secondary application needed to complete registration.

EV Accelerate At Home is a paid program available in Minnesota, with a program monthly fee starting at $7.77. To join, first apply on Xcel Energy’s website. Once your charger is installed or inspected, create a WeaveGrid account and select your EV Accelerate At Home option to complete enrollment.

Charging Perks and Optimize Your Charge reward you for charging your EV during off-peak hours, but they work differently. EV Accelerate At Home is a paid program that offers low off-peak charging rates.

Charging Perks offers the highest rewards and the most convenience for Xcel Energy drivers. This program uses WeaveGrid technology to automatically schedule your charging for times when renewable energy is most prevalent on the grid. Simply plug in your EV anytime, and WeaveGrid handles the rest—there's no need to remember specific charging windows or manage your schedule. Need to charge now? No problem. Optimize Your Charge provides an annual incentive for Xcel Energy drivers to follow a more hands-on approach. You select a charging window that fits your lifestyle, but you're responsible for remembering to plug in only during that window.

EV Accelerate At Home (Minnesota only) offers low-cost overnight charging with a Level 2 charger for a monthly fee. Rent a charger from Xcel Energy with setup and maintenance included, or bring your own qualified charger. Choose Pay As You Go, or a Subscription that includes 1,000 kWh of off-peak energy per month.

Your charger is set to charge during this window automatically. Charging at other times is billed at mid-peak and peak rates. Subscriptions include 1,000 kWh of off-peak energy per month, and additional off-peak use is billed at 3.8¢/kWh plus fuel charges.

EV Accelerate At Home:

As an EV driver, you can earn rewards or access low-cost off-peak charging, and track your electricity usage for EV charging.

Each time you plug in your car, WeaveGrid will generate a smart schedule that charges your car by your departure time.

The schedule takes into account a variety of live signals from Xcel Energy such as energy cost, grid stress, and renewable energy.

While it's best to stick to the schedule as much as possible, you can opt out and charge immediately at any time.

WeaveGrid schedules your charging when renewable energy is most available, reducing strain on the grid and helping keep electricity reliable and affordable for everyone.

When you sign up, you log in to your car or charger account. This lets WeaveGrid see when, how much, and where you charge.

WeaveGrid is committed to securing users’ data. We maintain stringent data security procedures to prevent details about our users and their charging and driving patterns from being misused or disclosed to unauthorized parties.

We take steps to keep your data safe. We use encryption, which scrambles your data so only the right people can read it. Our security program follows well-known industry standards.

If you want the details: The WeaveGrid platform uses SSL/TLS encryption to secure communications with various external data sources, such as utilities and vehicles. WeaveGrid also uses AES-256 encryption for securing personal information (PI), personally identifiable information (PII), and data at rest, hosted in our own virtual private cloud (VPC). Additionally, our information security management program is aligned with industry best practices and highly regarded IT governance frameworks such as ISO:27001, SOC2, and NIST CSF. This means we uphold the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer data in the utmost regard.

Your vehicle or charger tells WeaveGrid when your EV is charging at home after you have logged in to your vehicle or home charging station during registration.
