2. If you're enrolling in Vehicle Charging Time of Use Rate, you must also sign into your BGE My Account and complete the program application.

3. BGE will determine your eligibility and notify you of your EVsmart® program status via email.

If you enroll in both programs, you can be sure that you always charge off-peak no matter when you plug in and use a lower EV rate for that charging. Enrolling in both programs allows you to maximize your potential BGE electricity bill credits!

Your participation helps BGE measure the impact of electric vehicle charging on the grid and make adjustments to ensure grid stability.

As an EV driver, you can earn BGE electricity bill credits and gain valuable insights into your charging costs and energy usage.

This savings estimate is based on a driver receiving $120 a year in bill credits for Smart Charge Management participation and saving $120 a year through charging off-peak on the Vehicle Charging Time of Use Rate, versus costs under an R Residential rate.

Each time you plug in at home, we generate a smart charging schedule that will automatically manage when your charging happens to ensure your mobility needs are met.

Your smart schedule takes into account your stated departure time, desired state of charge, electricity rates and grid needs.

While it's best to stick to the schedule as much as possible, you can opt out and charge immediately at any time.

The WeaveGrid platform uses SSL/TLS encryption to secure communications with various external data sources, such as utilities and vehicles. WeaveGrid also uses AES-256 encryption for securing personal information (PI), personally identifiable information (PII), and data at rest, hosted in our own virtual private cloud (VPC).
